Radiomoderator Grant Mazzy und seine Crew werden eines Morgens von erschreckenden Nachrichten überrascht. In der Kleinstadt Pontypool, Sitz der Radiostation, bekriegen sich die Anwohner in blutigen Schlachten gegenseitig. Bald wird klar: Schuld ist ein seltsamer Virus, der sich immer weiter ausbreitet. Mazzy und seine Kollegen versuchen, von ihrem Arbeitsplatz aus die Geschehnisse zu rekonstruieren und die Lage zu entschärfen.

“Pontypool” ist ein außergewöhnlicher Low-Budget-Genrefilm, der mit nur wenig Blut auskommt und die üblichen Mittel eines Horrorfilms größtenteils ausspart. Dafür reflektiert der kanadische Regisseur Bruce McDonald über Sprache und die Macht der Worte und zeigt dem Zuschauer eine apokalyptische Vision von zombiehaftem Sinnverlust.

In a post apocalyptic world, Michael Frank searches for infected persons in hopes to figure them out and to find the answers he has been searching for.

Chemical 12-D was headed by four DePaul University students for their Production I final. Since its release, Chemical 12-D has received great reviews from online horror blogs and websites and has also been in over a dozen film festivals.
