Internet: The Movie
is a video made in 1997 to explain the then-fairly-young internet to individuals looking to get in on the action. However, what’s really funny to see in this movie is the ridiculous ‘plot’ in between the educational parts, and to try to make sense of most of the included segments’ relevance to the explanation of the internet itself. But then 40 minutes of content would be lost. The beginning is really some of the best parts (in that they are the worst parts) of how the movie sought to relate the internet to people. It trails off at the end as eventually they just start explaining how to do things in… Netscape. It’s worth it to watch just because somewhere in the middle, the video suggests that using the internet is too hard and tells you that you should go make a sandwich instead.
